IFPA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK – TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

Don’t miss the Woodstock of pinball as The Pinlab in Copenhagen hosts IFPA14 and rolls out a full week of open tournaments starring you against the best players in the world. Get your tickets now at:

World Championship Week starts with the World Classic Open on May 27-28th (Saturday-Sunday) in Hvalsø featuring over 50 classic machines available.

Typically held in October, the Danish Pinball Open is the biggest annual event in Denmark. For 2017 they have decided to make this premiere event part of World Championship Week, taking place May 29-30th (Monday-Tuesday). This will be held at the same location as IFPA14.

Action will continue on Wednesday May 31st at the Retro Arcade Open in Glostrup with a collection of over 60 machines.

Qualification for World Classic Open and Danish Pinball Open is a shared bank between all players of at least 20 machines. You pick 8 machines and play once on each, no joker.

Qualification for Retro Arcade Open is a bit different, here players will be divided into groups of 15, where everybody plays everybody in their group head to head, machines to be decided at random from a bank of about 70, both classic, “golden era” and newer Sterns.

All tournaments end in a head to head bracket, culminating in a 4 player final.

The 5th edition of the Epstein Cup where the 8 best players from Europe battle the 8 best players from North America will happen Thursday night, June 1st. Finally, Sunday, June 4th, IFPA’s World Championship Week concludes with the crowning of the new World Pinball Champion.

For any questions regarding any part of IFPA’s World Championship Week, contact the IFPA at [email protected].

Brett Goodwin – Winner of the Australian Championship Series

blog post courtesy of Marc Bell
No stranger to the international pinball competitive scene, Brett Goodwin once again takes out the Australian Championship Series for the 2016 season. This win now complimenting his 1st place achieved in the 2014 season.
The tournament was held at the Thornbury Bowling Club in Melbourne Victoria. While the ACS itself stretched over two days (qualifying and finals), another three side tournaments were held over an additional two days making the entire event four days of exhausting but rewarding pinball. There was even a ‘flips’ tournament which saw the PAPA Split Flipper World Champions (Naiomi and Brett Goodwin) battling fellow Australians for nothing but pride!
Full results of the Australian Championship Series and all 32 competitors can be found on Game the System at the following link: http://gamethesystem.co/latest/13/2/2017/see-full-results-ifpa-pinball-australian-championship-series-2017
