  1. Quick overview

The IFPA Italian Championship Series is an annual pinball competition with players qualifying throughout specific events during the entire calendar year. At the end of each calendar year, the top 32 players with the most points (see below) will play for the title of IFPA Italian Pinball Champion.

The Final Match will be held in January or February 2026 and the event will have 150 % TGP weight.

  1. How to qualify

Qualifying for the Final Match of IFPA Italian Championship Series is based on results from a series of IFPA endorsed tournaments in Italy. Utilizing the points system below, the IFPA will be tracking results from these ICS events, maintaining a custom ranking.

  1. Point system

The winner of each event will receive 100 points with points awarded to the top 30 positions in accordance with the table below. The only exception is the Italian Pinball Open (IPO) where the winner will receive 150 points with points awarded the top 50 positions in accordance with the table below.

  1. Fees

The entry fee for each event will depend upon the organizers. The entry fee into the IFPA ICS Final is 25 Euro for participant (maximum: 32 partecipants)

 

III. Format of Final Match

  1. Seeding of finalist

Once all participants are finalized, the top 32 players will be seeded based on their ICS rankings position at the end of the calendar year. In the event that any players are tied with the same amount of ICS ranking points, the best IFPA ranked player will take the higher position

  1. Part 1 – Matchplay (group of 4 players)

12 rounds will be played under PAPA scoring system (4-2-1-0)
Players with best ICS ranking will choose order of play in each game
Machine will be assigned randomly by the system

Best 16 players (or 50%) will advance to final bracket
Tie will be break by 1 game, random machine

  1. Final bracket 

    Players will be seeded in a classic 16 players head to head bracket.
    Best of 5 games
    Players with higher ranking in Part 1 will choose machine in games 1-3 (and 5 if necessary)
    Players with lower ranking in Part 1 will choose machine in game 2 (and 4 if necessary)

Trophies will be available for top 4 players
