IFPA18 World Pinball Championship field is almost set!

The IFPA18 field is nearly set, with 77 out of the 80 players locked in. The IFPA European Pinball Championship, IFPA Women’s World Pinball Championship and IFPA North American Pinball Championship Satellite spots will all be up for grabs to fill the final 3 spots.

20 countries will be represented at IFPA18, along with 15 players in the field that have won a Major Championship at some point in their career (Keith Elwin, Daniele Celestino Acciari, Escher Lefkoff,
Raymond Davidson, Cayle George, Eric Stone, Arvid Flygare, Colin MacAlpine, Zach McCarthy, Johannes Ostermeier, Zach Sharpe, Robert Sutter, Andrei Massenkoff, Paul Jongma and Jim Belsito).

At rank #67, David Dahl-Hansson from Sweden became the last player above the cut line.

IFPA presents World Championship Week for 2019!

In celebration of the upcoming World Pinball Championship this June, the IFPA will be taking over Italy with a WPPR point bonanza of tournaments for flipper fanatics to enjoy!

World Championship Week starts with the Double Weekend Challenge on June 1st-2nd (Saturday-Sunday) featuring both a Main and Classics event.

Monday June 3rd brings us the Hot Monday Tournament. Details of that event is available HERE.

Wednesday June 5th brings us the Mid-Week Pin-Golf Cup. Details of that event is available HERE.

The 7th edition of the Epstein Cup where the 8 best players from Europe battle the 8 best players from North America will happen Thursday night, June 6th.

Finally, Sunday, June 9th, IFPA’s World Championship Week concludes with the crowning of the new World Pinball Champion.

The IFPA16 field is nearly set, with 62 out of the 64 players locked in. The IFPA European Pinball Championship and IFPA North American Pinball Championship Satellite spots will both be up for grabs in February/March to fill the final 2 spots.

A record 22 countries will be represented at IFPA16, along with 17 players in the field that have won a Major Championship at some point in their career (Keith Elwin, Jorian Engelbrektsson, Daniele Celestino Acciari, Raymond Davidson, Cayle George, Franck Bona, Albert Nomden, Zach Sharpe, Robert Gagno, Jörgen Holm, Colin MacAlpine, Jim Belsito, Robert Sutter, Adam Becker, Escher Lefkoff, Levente Tregova, Andrei Massenkoff).

The IFPA15 field is nearly set, with 62 out of the 64 players locked in. The IFPA European Championship and IFPA US National Championship Satellite spots will both be up for grabs in March to fill the final 2 spots.

18 countries will be represented at IFPA15, along with 12 players in the field that have won a Major Championship at some point in their career (Adam Becker, Andrei Massenkoff, Cayle George, Colin MacAlpine, Daniele Celestino Acciari, Escher Lefkoff, Jim Belsito, Jorian Engelbrektsson,
Lyman Sheats, Raymond Davidson, Robert Gagno and Zach Sharpe).

World Championship Week starts with the World Classic Open on May 27-28th (Saturday-Sunday) in Hvalsø featuring over 50 classic machines available.

Typically held in October, the Danish Pinball Open is the biggest annual event in Denmark. For 2017 they have decided to make this premiere event part of World Championship Week, taking place May 29-30th (Monday-Tuesday). This will be held at the same location as IFPA14.

Action will continue on Wednesday May 31st at the Retro Arcade Open in Glostrup with a collection of over 60 machines.

Qualification for World Classic Open and Danish Pinball Open is a shared bank between all players of at least 20 machines. You pick 8 machines and play once on each, no joker.

Qualification for Retro Arcade Open is a bit different, here players will be divided into groups of 15, where everybody plays everybody in their group head to head, machines to be decided at random from a bank of about 70, both classic, “golden era” and newer Sterns.

All tournaments end in a head to head bracket, culminating in a 4 player final.

The 5th edition of the Epstein Cup where the 8 best players from Europe battle the 8 best players from North America will happen Thursday night, June 1st. Finally, Sunday, June 4th, IFPA’s World Championship Week concludes with the crowning of the new World Pinball Champion.

IFPA14 World Pinball Championship field is almost set!

The IFPA14 field is nearly set, with 63 out of the 64 players locked in. The IFPA European Championship Satellite spot was just won by Taco Wouters from the Netherlands, while the IFPA US National Championship Satellite spot will be decided in March.

IFPA14 will set a new record for most countries represented in the history of any pinball tournament with 20.

At rank #69, Ben Granger from the US became the last player above the cut line.

IFPA14 also breaks another record by featuring 15 players in the field that have won a Major Championship at some point in their career.

The formats will be qualification on 5 machines – 2 games on each machine. After that it will be player vs. player until a final 4 – best of 5 games. Full details for each even along with online registration will be available soon. Each event will be limited to 120 players maximum.

IFPA13 World Pinball Championship field is almost set!

Comp-2015-1aThe IFPA13 field is nearly set, with 62 out of the 64 players locked in. The IFPA European Championship Satellite spot is being determined right now, while the IFPA US National Championship Satellite spot will be decided in a few short weeks.

18 countries will be represented, a record for a US-based IFPA World Pinball Championship. This includes Thailand which will see its flag on the World Pinball Champion trophy for the first time.

IFPA13 shattered the previous world record for the cut line for at-large bids into any IFPA World Pinball Championship. At rank #52, Adam McKinnie from the US became the last player above the cut line, shattering the previous US-based IFPA record of rank #79 set at IFPA11 in Denver and the Europe-based IFPA record rank of #66 set at IFPA10 in Germany. The cut line has since moved a bit as we’ve had 3 players cancel since IFPA13 registration closed.

IFPA13 also breaks another record by featuring 15 players in the field that have won a Major Championship at some point in their career.

IFPA presents World Championship Week for 2014!

IFPA11 world championship weekIn celebration of the upcoming World Pinball Championship this May, the IFPA will be taking over Denver with a WPPR point bonanza of tournaments for flipper fanatics to enjoy!

World Championship Week starts with the Lyons Spring Classic, the official IFPA Satellite event for IFPA11. Taking place May 16th-18th in Lyons, CO, the Lyons Spring Classic is an event on the 2014-15 PAPA Circuit. As the official IFPA Satellite event for IFPA11, there is ONE spot available to get into the field of 64 players and play for the right to be crowned World Pinball Champion. The IFPA will also be crowing the first IFPA US National Champion, which is the culmination of the first SCS on Sunday, May 18th. The 2nd edition of the Epstein Cup where the 8 best players from Europe battle the 8 best players from North America will happen Thursday night, May 22nd. Finally, Sunday, May 25th, IFPA's World Championship Week concludes with the crowning of the new World Pinball Champion. IFPA11 will be happening all day on Friday and Saturday as we work the field down from the 64 qualifiers, to the 8 finalists that will be competing Sunday morning for the World Championship.
