Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: December 07, 2019
Alright gang, it is time for Romp in the Swamp VII. This will be an IFPA sanctioned event. There shall only be thirty-two (32) slots for this event, you must register your attendance in advance by notifying either the tourney director or the Louisiana IFPA representative - Mike VanEtten - of your intention to play. If you have never played in a Lake Charles area IFPA sanctioned event previously you must provide your IFPA identification number and full name and contact information to the tourney director or the IFPA representative when you are registering.
The entry fee for both the main tournament and the side tournament is $15. Lunch will be provided but you should plan to bring your own beverages. Registration is open now.
The main tournament will feature the popular match play format. The plan is to do four rounds of match play, though that may be reduced to three rounds depending various factors (primarily time). The top four will then do a final round of three games to determine 1-4 place. All games to be randomly selected by the matchplay software.
The side tournament will be on the best game format. Eight games will be in play, you will have one play on each of the eight games and your score will be entered into the match play software 95% modified decay format. The top four players will then make the playoffs. They will play one game selected by the top qualifier and play a four player game, the last place person will drop off and then a new game will be selected for a three player game, the last place on that game will drop off, then a final new game will be played to determine first and second in the side tourney.
The Romp in the Swamp events are always a giant party and we’ve never had an issue with anyone during these events and we’ve never had to send anyone home early and never had any drama at one of these events. That said, be advised this is an elite collection we will be enjoying and no machine abuse will be tolerated. Alcohol is allowed on the premises, but overly drunken behavior will not be tolerated. There is a large dog that lives at this house, he is friendly and will be roaming around...if you are allergic to dogs then you should skip this tournament as the dog is part of the family and will be hanging out with everyone. Convicted felons or persons currently charged with a felony but awaiting trial will not be allowed on the premises. Further, this event is at a residence and parking is at a premium. Do not park in a manner that might perturb the neighbors. Try and park in two rows in the driveway. Try and come in a small car if you have one and not in a giant extended cab truck if possible. Try and car pool to reduce the total number of vehicles.
