The DPO Classics Kickoff tournament is a separate event from the 2025 Delaware Pinball Open, and will kick things off on Thursday night (9/11) with a Match Play event worth 112% WPPRS!

This event is open to anyone and has a separate registration and separate entry fee from the 2025 DPO.

Event will be capped at 80 players. NOTE - This event sells out every year

Tournament will only use "classic" games made before 1991.

TIME: 7PM Sharp start time. Doors open at 6pm. Practice ends at 6:45pm for announcements


COST: MEMBERS $10 ($1 to IFPA, $9 to prize pool) NOTE - This price is reserved for members who have active memberships as of 6/11/25

NON-MEMBERS $35 ($1 to IFPA, $25 to DPC for club access, $9 to prize pool)

NOTE - No food or beverage provided for this event. You are allowed to bring your own food. We will have snacks available for purchase. We carry non-alcoholic sodas, energy drinks, coffee and water.

PRIZES: Top 4 win cash. Percentage breakdown after all expenses (medals) will be 40% for 1st, 30% for 2nd, 20% for 3rd, and 10% for 4th. Estimated payouts based on 80 players will be $272 for 1st, $204 for 2nd, $136 for 3rd, and $68 for 4th.


QUALIFYING FORMAT: 8 rounds of group match play. Balanced pairings for rounds 1-4 and then switch to Swiss pairings for rounds 5-8 (if I remember).

SCORING: 7/5/3/1

Top 8 players make "A" finals. There will be no consolation finals.

FINALS FORMAT: Top 8 Players make the “A” Finals. Automatic Tiebreakers are turned on and will be used to seed the field. Exception will be 8th place. Anyone with the same number of base points for 8th place will play in a tiebreaker. The players will play a full game on Stars to determines who advances to the Finals. This tiebreaker game will be significant and will result in the final position for those players that don’t make it into the final and will also determine the seeding for those players who do make it to the finals. For example, if we have 3 players tied at 8th place, after the tiebreaker game the winner would be placed in 8th, 2nd would be placed in 9th, 3rd would be placed in 10th.

The finals format will be PAPA format and will consist of 2 rounds, playing 3 games each round. High seed will drive the bus for all 3 games. No game can be played twice in the same round and no game can be picked more than once. No group is allowed to wait for a game in use.

Scoring will be 4/2/1/0 for each of the 3 games. Top 2 advance, bottom 2 are eliminated.
