Jorian Engelbrektsson wins 2011 Swedish Championships!

With a record-breaking 197 competitors gathering in Gothenburg, [player]Jorian Engelbrektsson[/player] rose highest to claim the throne with his third gold. In the final game, Engelbrektsson won 2-0 over [player]Per Ahlenius[/player], who was denied in his second big final (Beaten by [player]Fredrik Malmqvist[/player] in Borås earlier this fall) and is longing for revenge, as well as making himself really comfortable

in the top flight. [player]Jörgen Holm[/player] took the bronze in the main competition and put [player]Mats Runsten[/player] in fourth place.

The classic tournament saw some odd faces in the final four. Long-time "disliker of classic games" [player]Helena Walter[/player] played a controlled game that won her a gold in a tie-breaker with [player]Tobias Lund[/player] of Eskilstuna and [player]Jonas Johansson of Stockholm taking silver and bronze. [player]Christer Holm[/player] was held at fourth place by the others.

In the other minor competitions, Sterns Transformers was introduced in Sweden, thanks to P4P, and former swedish champion [player]Reidar Spets[/player] struck some 43M to claim that award. He also shared a gold with last years main champion [player]Alvar Palm[/player], as they took control of the split tournament, where they won the final in front of Jorian Engelbrektsson and Jörgen Holm. A final that contained six individual gold medals in the main competition!

The charity event, Pinball Golf, where contestants donated 50 SEK (about €5) to charity when they bought a scorecard, was eventually won by Mats Runsten who made a rather demanding five-hole-round in nine strokes. Young pinball promise [player]Jakob Wikner[/player] was awarded the U18-prize (second time for him), and Jörgen Holm got a trio of prizes as he took hold of Set-the-highscore on Elvis with about 399M. [player]Markus Salo[/player] was proud owner of "Fathom", the game that was elected as Best-in-show.
