Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: December 17, 2023
New in box machine arriving for our Stern Army Yankee Swap Tournament on December 17th!
The entry fee is $1 (IFPA fee) plus a wrapped gift. Please keep the gifts under $30, and try to shop local. Acceptable gift examples include but are not limited to: a gift card to a local business, Stern Pinball swag—e.g. coasters, Koozies, shot glasses, coffee mug, art prints purchased from a local artist, t-shirts, etc. Try to wrap your gift in plain, inconspicuous wrapping to make it difficult to identify the contents. Used brown grocery bags and string work great for this.
This will be a head-to-head matchplay tournament. We will play as many rounds as allowed within the four hour limit. Machines will be configured for tournament play. Extra balls are plunged, arena choice determined randomly, Swiss pairing. Players receive points for each round won. The top players with the most points at the end of the tournament wins advance to finals. Finals will be head-to-head matchplay elimination.
Yankee swap rules:
Everyone places their gifts into a box at the beginning of the tournament. Each person will then be randomly called up to draw a gift from the box. This continues until all gifts are handed out. After each match, the winner gets to choose whether to keep their gift or swap their gift with their opponent’s. Whatever gift each player is left with at the end of the tournament is theirs to keep. The winner will receive additional Stern swag to be announced the day of the tournament in addition to their gift and the WPPRs, but EVERYONE leaves with a gift.
