Tournament Overview
Tournament Date: September 05, 2016
PinGolf format with one round of 9 holes, similar to NWPAS Memorial Day Masters event. Players will be able to reserve a tee-off time starting a week before the event. Two players tee-off at a time, and play as two-player games.
Players are allowed to play up two twice, but the second round is based on availability only, and players can only be on a Standby list. That is, no reserved tee-off times for the second try.
Retries require another $10 entry.
Every machine will be set to 5-ball play, and will list a target score. Reach the target score in 1 ball for a hole in one. Reach it in 2 balls, then get a score of 2 strokes, and so on. If the target score is not reached after 5 balls, then earn a stroke score of 6 to 10, depending on how close to the target score reached. The score ranges (20%, 40%, 60%, 80% of score) will be shown on a note on the back glass.
When a player reaches their target score or their game ends, they should raise their hand to call over the scorekeeper to verify and record the score.
Extra balls can be played, and counts as an extension of the current ball being played. Thus if a player earns an extra ball on ball 2, and during that ball 2 they reach the target, they get a score of 2.
When a target score is reached, the player stops playing and informs the scorekeeper of the number of strokes it took them. All subsequent balls for that player will be plunged. A player who accidentally plays the ball of another player who has not yet reached their score will be disqualified that game for playing out of turn. However, if the player accidentally plays the ball of a player who is done but had not plunged the next ball, then there will be no penalty as long as the player stops playing as soon as anyone notices.
Scores on each machine will be tabulated. The players are ranked from lowest to highest score, with lowest score being declared winner at the end of the event.
Top 16 players will play in a 4 player group three-strike tournament (strike to 2nd/3rd/4th), with
PinGolf scoring, starting at approximately 7pm. During this round, players are assigned to a machine (hole). Scoring is the same as during qualifying round. Whoever has lowest number of strokes wins, other player gets a strike. In case both players get same number of strokes on a hole, they move on to the next hole (e.g. if they start on Hole 5, they move to Hole 6), and play another game there. This continues until there is a winner. Once it is obvious who wins the game, players should abort the game and report the score, to enable the tournament to continue efficiently.
Tee-off time reservations begin on Sunday 28th of August. Players must show up to 8-Bit at least
15 minutes before their scheduled tee-off time and pay their $10 entry fee, or may lose their reserved tee-off time to someone on the Standby list. Registration closes once all tee-off times are filled. Players can get onto a standby list if available to play and there is a no-show.
