The DFW Pinball League is starting 2026 off with a BANG!
This, the 3rd event of 2026 will be our first PUBLIC event of the year.

This will be the 3RD ANNUAL POLAR PLUNGE PINBALL TOURNAMENT HOSTED BY FUN SUPERSTORE (https://pinballandmore.com/)

Pre-registration and pre-payment required --- see details later in this message!!!

A MINIMUM of $2200 will be paid out in cash prizes if the event sells out (like it did last year).
Cash will be paid out in BOTH the A and B Divisions so everyone has a chance!

There will be trophies and other prizes too!


COST: $45 per person PLUS Eventbrite platform fees!

SCHEDULE:
Pre-Registration: FRIDAY 1/9/2026 at 7:00 PM CT.
Qualifying: SATURDAY JANUARY 31, 2026.
Finals: SUNDAY FEBRUARY 1, 2026.
Doors open at 11:00 AM
Check-In opens at 11:30 AM
Tournament Meeting starts at 11:55 AM
Tournament Starts at NOON.

This is a retail pinball business - they close on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
Only tournament players allowed after 4:00 PM.
ABSOLUTELY no one will be allowed in after 4:00 PM if they are not playing in the tournament.

NO ONE will be allowed on Sunday except for the tournament players and officials.

FOOD:
Potluck. Please bring something GOOD!
We will probably have other food provided like PIZZA, BEER, and SODA, but this is subject to change, but we WILL have something in terms of food.
People can bring their own stuff too!

PARKING:
Do not park in the mud if there is bad weather
Please park behind building (plenty of parking) on Saturday so customers can have the front parking.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND DETAIL:
Qualifying is "group matchplay style" on Saturday.
This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.
There will be 4 rounds withe 3 games per round.
All significant ties (final 4, last entry into the finals, who gets a bye, etc) will be broken using a play-in game with specific game being chosen by a player - TD determines methodology.

Finals is "Group Elimination/PAPA Style", which is similar to the above, but with lower performing players being eliminated as we go forward (until there's a winner).
This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.

Top 24 or 32 will play in the A Division finals (depending on how many players we have in qualifying).
Note that qualifying higher is important as the top 8 will get a BYE if we have a 24 person finals.
The next 8 eligible players will play in the B division finals.

For both divisions, this is the top qualifiers that SHOW UP in each division -- so if someone fails to check in before NOON on Sunday, their spot will be given to the next highest qualifier that checks in.

The B Division is restricted -
Players in the top 1500 in the IFPA rankings are ineligible
Players who have placed top 3 in A Division in any of the last 3 DFW League events are ineligible.
THUS: many of the top players are excluded from the B Division so that ANYONE CAN WIN!

KIDS:
Unlike our normal events, there are no discounts or "special kids prizes" for this event. This is because of the event size, magnitude, and cost.

PAYOUT DETAILS:
If the event sells out, $2200 will be paid out.
That payout schedule looks like this:
A Division - Top 8 paid - $500, $350, $225, $150, $100, $100, $100, $100
B Division - Top 4 paid - $250, $150, $100, $75

All skill levels welcome!! It's about having fun, eating, socializing, and playing pinball!! We've had players as young as 3 years old & as old as 81 in our leagues. All we ask is that you respect each other, the host's business, and the machines! So, come Join us!
