1st Annual Classic-ish Ballroom Unlimited Best Game Tournament
September 25th - 28th
Come and join us for our very first ever Ballroom Unlimited Best Game Tournament at Jay’s Silver Ballroom in Peosta, IA. This is a 4-day event with 3 days of qualifying (20 hours) and finals on Sunday for both A & B Divisions. This tournament is open to all ages and skill levels and only $25 to enter ($10 from each player goes to the prize pool and $15 for hosting and IFPA fees). All games are set to Free Play and this location is BYOB and snacks. Each player will receive 6 entries with their admission to the tournament. You may purchase and play as many extra entries that you like. $2 for 1 entry $10 for 6 entries. We will be having a lots of prizes that will be raffled off during all days of the tournaments, too!
Players can purchase unlimited tickets to play individual games on the tournament machines (Herb style format). Each player's best score on each machine is recorded and ranked against the other competitor's scores using Match Play Events software. Players receive a total overall score and rank on the required number of games (6) to determine their qualifying position and will have the option to have their best 12 scores count towards it as well .
This format is a great way for players to have multiple days to make it in to play their entries and have a great prize pool and possibly reach IFPA Certified status once we have 48+ players. All players will need to check in and finish registering with Emily and for any additional entries that you wish to purchase.
Hours for Best Game Qualifying:
Thursday Sept. 25th - 5pm to 9pm
Friday Sept. 26th - 5 to 9pm
Saturday Sept. 27th - 10am to 10pm
Finals will be on Sunday for both A & B Divisions. Doors will Open at 10:00am and please be checked in by 10:30am. If we have any tie breakers for seeding or to determine division, we will be playing those on Sunday morning, unless the players are present at the conclusion of qualifying on Saturday night. Finals for both Divisions will start at 11am or once tie breakers are finished. Once you are checked in, feel free to get some practice in on any games that are not part of any Finals arenas. If we reach the 48+ players, we will be taking the top 24 to A Division and the next 24 players will be playing in the B Division.
Finals Format:
“A” Division PAPA style final 3 game banks (4-2-1-0) for top half (approximately) of qualifiers.
“B” Division 5 Strike Knockout final (0,1,1,2) for remaining qualifiers.
*Payouts will be for the Top 5 Finishers of “A” Division (depending on the amount of players and entries, there is a possibility for the top 8 or 16 to receive cash payouts). Medals for the top 3.
“B” Division will have a Medal and payout for 1st place (hoping for 2nd & 3rd place, as well)
Preregistration is not required but is encouraged. One person will be drawn from all that have preregistered and will receive 6 extra entries to play.
