Steven Bowden – IFPA’s 2015 Player of the Year!

166The IFPA is pleased to announce that our Player of the Year for 2015 is [player]Steven Bowden[/player] from Franklin Park, NJ. Steve racked up an incredible 1282.34 WPPR points during 2015 moving him from 13th to 2nd in the world during the year.

Steve was the IFPA Player of the Month in May, October and December of 2015 having won 36% of the 55 tournaments he played in during 2015, and finished in the top 4 in 64% of them.

Steve’s highlights during 2015 included 1st place finishes at Pinball Expo’s Flip Out Main Tournament, PPO’s Classics and Pin-Golf Tournaments, Pinfest and the 24 Hour Final Battle at The Sanctum. Steve also won 5 out the 12 Modern Pinball NYC Super League tournaments during 2015, racking up enough WPPR points (538.91) to actually change the course of the WPPR system forever!

Steve will be given his award at the IFPA13 World Pinball Championship, scheduled for April 12-14, 2016 in Pittsburgh. The IFPA wishes to congralute Steve on all of his success throughout 2015.

IFPA presents World Championship Week for 2014!

IFPA11 world championship weekIn celebration of the upcoming World Pinball Championship this May, the IFPA will be taking over Denver with a WPPR point bonanza of tournaments for flipper fanatics to enjoy!

World Championship Week starts with the Lyons Spring Classic, the official IFPA Satellite event for IFPA11. Taking place May 16th-18th in Lyons, CO, the Lyons Spring Classic is an event on the 2014-15 PAPA Circuit. As the official IFPA Satellite event for IFPA11, there is ONE spot available to get into the field of 64 players and play for the right to be crowned World Pinball Champion. The IFPA will be back in action starting Monday, May 19th with the Pre-IFPA 1up Lodo Tournament in Denver. Full details including schedule, format, entry fees, prizes will be available soon. Learn more about 1up Lodo HERE.

World Championship Week continues Tuesday, May 20th when the IFPA moves on to Pinball Jones in Fort Collins, where we will be hosting the Pre-IFPA Pinball Jones Tournament. Full details including schedule, format, entry fees, prizes will be available soon. Learn more about Pinball Jones HERE.

Wednesday, May 21st, we head back to Denver to the 1up Colfax. The IFPA will be hosting the PreIFPA 1up Colfax tournament. Full details for this tournament will also be available soon. Learn more about the 1up Colfax HERE.

The IFPA will also be crowing the first IFPA US National Champion, which is the culmination of the first SCS on Sunday, May 18th. The 2nd edition of the Epstein Cup where the 8 best players from Europe battle the 8 best players from North America will happen Thursday night, May 22nd. Finally, Sunday, May 25th, IFPA's World Championship Week concludes with the crowning of the new World Pinball Champion. Hosted by Game Exchange of Colorado, and sponsored by Stern Pinball, Jersey Jack Pinball, AAMA, AMOA, Marco Specialties, Gameworks, Play Meter Magazine, Raw Thrills, Betson, Brady Distributing, Pinball Center, Farsight Studios, Zen Studios, PAPA, Color DMD, Suzo Happ, Bay Area Amusements and Planetary Pinball Supply, the IFPA11 World Pinball Championship will feature the most competitive field of participants in pinball tournament history from 16 countries, including 7 current and former World Pinball Champions. IFPA11 will be happening all day on Friday and Saturday as we work the field down from the 64 qualifiers, to the 8 finalists that will be competing Sunday morning for the World Championship. Andrei Massenkoff – IFPA’s Player of the Month for December 2013!

53The IFPA is pleased to announce that our Player of the Month for December 2013 is [player]Andrei Massenkoff[/player] from San Francsico, CA. Andrei earned a total 127.23 WPPR points in December, winning the fall season of both the SFPD League and BAPA League. Andrei also swept the Main and Classics divisions at City Champ, and a 1st/2nd place finish in Main and Classics respectively at the Nutcracker Duel.

Jorian earned a total 157.50 WPPR points in September, with victories at both the EPC and the K15 Open in Finland.

IFPA10 World Pinball Championship – $1695 raised for Kids Fight Cancer!

KFC 300 DPI LogoThe IFPA10 World Pinball Championship marked the return of the Charity Challenge at the championship. Through entry fees, player donations, and the gracious matching of funds raised from both Stern Pinball and Jersey Jack Pinball, and we were able to raise $1695 for Kids Fight Cancer.

Results from the Charity Challenge tournament can be found HERE. Players played one run through a set of 3 games, including an OLD, MID and NEW game. This year the games played included Dogies, Kings of Steel and Monster Bash, with 100-90-85-84-83-etc scoring. [player]Trent Augenstein[/player] emerged victorious with 256 points, besting IFPA8 runner up [player]Andreas Harre[/player] (242 points), new World Pinball Champion Jörgen Holm (227 points) and [player]Roy Wils[/player] (226 points). Showing he still has some gas left in the tank, PAPA Co-founder and IFPA Chairman [player]Steve Epstein[/player] finished 5th with 223 points.

Thanks to Stern Pinball, Jersey Jack Pinball and to all the players that helped raise money for Kids Fight Cancer!

We look forward to continuing the tradition of the IFPA Charity Challenge at IFPA11 as the World Pinball Championship will be celebrated in Denver, Colorado at the Game Exchange of Colorado warehouse. Mark your calendars for what has become an annual tradition of IFPA World Championship Week starting Friday, May 16th, 2014. The week will start with the Lyons Spring Classic that opening weekend, which will also include the battle of the IFPA State Champions at the inaugural IFPA National Championship to be held on Sunday, May 18th at Lyons Classic Pinball. Pre-IFPA tournaments will be happening all week, with the Epstein Cup scheduled for Thursday, May 22nd. IFPA11 and the Charity Challenge will then kick off on Friday, May 23rd.

Franck Bona – IFPA’s Player of the Month for May 2013!

Franck earned 91.87 WPPR points in May, including a victory at the Tilt-Up Warehouse tournament. In addition, Franck had a top 10 finish in both the LNJF League and the Rodenbach Pre-IFPA Tournament.

Trent earned 164.32 WPPR points in March, including a victory at the Ohio Pinball & Gameroom Festival and the Texas Pinball Festival (both the Main and Classics tournament). In addition, Trent had a 4th and 2nd place finish in the Main and Classic tournaments at the Louisville Pinball Expo, the final stop of the 2012 PAPA Circuit.
