_

Welcome to the 2nd part of our pinball community spotlights, where we interview the operators, tournament organizers, and business owners that make the pinball world go ‘round.

In our first edition, we caught up with Brian O’Neill of Scorbit.

Today, we’ve got a special conversation with Andreas Haugstrup Pedersen of Match Play. For those not familiar with Andreas already, he’s probably best known for his work with Match Play – an incredibly useful piece of pinball tournament software – if you’ve played in any pinball tournaments lately, it’s likely they were run on Match Play.

IFPA celebrates 17th Anniversary!

In just a couple of days, February 27th, 2023 will mark the 17 year anniversary since the rebirth of the International Flipper Pinball Association.

On that day in 2006 the AMOA assigned the rights of the then defunct IFPA over to Steve Epstein and Roger Sharpe to see if they could elevate the awareness and visibility of pinball across the globe.

The World Pinball Player Rankings now has over 96,000 players from 45 countries and over 46,000 sanctioned events in the system.

Thanks to everyone for the continued support, but most importantly to the hundreds of volunteers that help the IFPA truly cover the globe in competitive pinball 24/7. We’re looking forward to seeing where we can take things in the years ahead!

The Pinball and Modern Art Museum “Dino Merluzzi”

Marmore, Terni (February 18, 2023) – A space where culture, education and entertainment meet. All of this is enclosed in the “Dino Merluzzi” Pinball and Modern Art Museum, which celebrates its debut on Saturday, February, the 18th, in an official ceremony crowned by the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and the Umbria Region. The Museum is dedicated Dino Merluzzi, one of the first Italians collector of vintage gaming machines, nurturing the dream of being able to put them in a museum one day. Today that dream is being realized by the Ifpa Italia Association, in cooperation with the Municipality of Terni, the Marmore turist office and the ARCI of Terni, which thanks to the contribution of the Fondazione Carit, has managed to make the Pinball and modern ant museum real, dedicated to the passed away collector from Terni, in the spaces of the former elementary school of Marmore, in Via Montesi 59.
