Jason Zahler wins 1st Major Championship!
In the history of competitive pinball, very few (34 in fact) have had the chance to call themselves a Major Champion. Like professional golf or tennis, the opportunity to join this elite club only happens a handful of times every year. The IFPA19 World Pinball Championship brought together one finalist looking to add their name to this list (Jason Zahler) and one of three finalists looking to add to their already established legacies (Arvid Flygare, Johannes Ostermeier and Escher Lefkoff).
After qualifying as the #3 seed, Jason Zahler defeated 4-time Major Champion Daniele Acciari (5-3), 11-time Major Champion Keith Elwin (4-2), 3-time Major Champion Escher Lefkoff (4-1) and 1-time Major Champion Arvid Flygare (5-3) to capture his 1st Major Championship, becoming only the 35th player in competitive pinball history to do so.
With his 2nd place finish, Arvid Flygare earned his second top 4 finish in Major Championships. 3rd place went to Johannes Ostermeier who earned his fifth top 4 finish in Major Championships. 4th place went to Escher Lefkoff who earned his fifth top 4 finish in Major Championships.
