An IFPA sanctioned Pinball Tournament
Doors open at Noon for practice
Limited Open Qualifying begins at 2:00 pm
Limited Open qualifying, meaning, you will have 8 tickets to use on a 5 machine bank. Competitors in the tournament may Play the 5 game bank in any order during the qualifying period starting at 2 pm, must plunge your first ball of first game no later than 3 pm. you will have additional tickets to improve your score on several machines but you do not have to use these tickets if you are satisfied with your scores.
All 5 games will be used to calculate your qualifying score.
Standard Tournament rules apply with a few additions:
1. You cannot play the same game twice in a row
2. Once you step up to a game that you have already played, your previous score on that machine is deleted.
3. Extra Balls will be turned off, creating a point value if earned, on games that do not allow turning off extra balls, if earned: you may plunge the ball but cannot touch the machine in any other way, sasve the plunger.
4. Each player must complete a minimum of 3 games to qualify for finals.
5. Questions regarding a ruling, machine malfunction, etc will be the final judgment of the tournament director on-site.
6. If a machine becomes inoperable during tournament qualifying, and cannot be repaired, it will be used in the scoring if there are over 75% of the field has submitted scores on it Otherwise, it will be turned off and not used in finals scoring.
Qualifying scoring will be a total from all 5 machines with points being awarded as follows:
First: 100 pts
Second: 97 pts
Third: 95 pts
Fourth: 94 pts
Fifth: 93 points
Sixth: 92 pts
Seventh: 91pts
Eighth: 90
Ninth: 89
Tenth: 88
And so on
Finals: directly after qualifying (approximately 4:30)
After qualifying, the players will be split into A and B Division.
A DIVISION
A Division finals will consist of no more than half the field, in multiples of 4: 4, 8, 12, or 16 players. A Division finals will be split into seeded groups of 4. The 5 games used during qualifying will be broken into 3 game banks:
The highest seed (from qualifying rounds) in each 4 player grouping (starting with the 1 seed) will choose a 3 game bank. The same bank cannot be chosen by other A Division groups during the same round. If the A Division finals consist of 12 or more players, then 1 bank may be utilized twice during a round.
The games in each bank will be played in the specific order they are listed. Since the high seed chooses the bank, on the first game, the 2nd highest seed chooses order, then 3rd highest, then 4th highest. on subsequent games, that order is reversed, where whoever had the lowest score on game one chooses order first.
Scoring in A Division finals will go as follows:
1st place: 3 points
2nd place: 2 points
3rd place: 1 point
4th place: 0 points
Per game in the 3 game bank. The top two players will advance to the next round of play. If the finals consist of 12 players, there will be a round added before finals of 3 player groups where only 1 individual will be eliminated. If there are only 4 players in A Finals, then one four game bank will be played, where all participants will pick one machine to play starting with lowest seed.
B DIVISION
B Division finals will consist of 4 and or 3 player seeded groups. The 5 games from qualifying will be broken into 3 game banks:
