IFPA9 World Pinball Championship Final – Game 5 – Old Chicago

ifpa9In what will go down as the most underwhelming finish in World Pinball Championship history, we're ready to show the Game 5 footage from the IFPA9 World Pinball Championship final match. [player]Daniele Celestino Acciari[/player] had a 3 games to 1 lead over [player]Cayle George[/player] after stealing a win on the road on Cayle’s Attack from Mars pick. Old Chicago was Daniele’s “OLD” era pick, and with a win he would earn the title of World Pinball Champion for the second time. IFPA9 World Pinball Championship Final – Game 4 – Attack From Mars

afmThrough three games of the IFPA9 final, both players have held serve with [player]Daniele Celestino Acciari[/player] winning on both Shadow and Medusa, while [player]Cayle George[/player] won on his first pick of Grand Prix. With both Mousin' Around and Attack From Mars left to choose from, Cayle went with Attack From Mars for his second choice. Having won on Attack From Mars in two of his previous playoff rounds, this game was a must win for Cayle to try and even things up. Check out the action HERE,

 

IFPA9 World Pinball Championship Final – Game 3 – Medusa

The second game of the IFPA9 final saw [player]Cayle George[/player] even up the match with [player]Daniele Celestino Acciari[/player] (1-1) by holding serve on his OLD game choice of Grand Prix. The next game in the match had Daniele choosing his MID game, Medusa.  Commentary provided by both [player]Cayle George[/player] and [player]Adam Lefkoff[/player]. Check out the action HERE,

 

Julio Vicario Soriano – IFPA’s Player of the Month for July 2012!

The IFPA is pleased to announce that our Player of the Month for July 2012 is [player]Julio Vicario Soriano[/player] from Spain. Julio earned a victory in each of the tournaments he played in during July including the Caja de Cristal Pinball Open, Pinball Party Night Valencia and the Torneo Espanol de Pinball, netting him 85.65 WPPR points.

The rest of the top 5 for the month of July included [player]Adam Lefkoff[/player] of the US with 77.03 WPPR points, [player]Keith Elwin[/player] of the US with 69.13 WPPR points, [player]Zach Sharpe[/player] of the US with 66.51 WPPR points, and [player]Trent Augenstein[/player] of the US with 57.87 WPPR points.

Pinball wizards converge on Portland

KATU in Portland had some coverage of the 4th annual Rose City Showdown, one of the nearly 350 annual IFPA endorsed tournaments where players can earn World Pinball Player Rankings points. Top ranked Portland player, and 58th ranked in the world [player]Aaron Nelson[/player] and 43rd ranked [player]Adam Lefkoff[/player] are both featured. Aaron and Adam both recently qualified for IFPA9 the upcoming World Pinball Championship held outside Seattle later in June.
