Welcome to the IFPA9 Registration Page!

The IFPA is pleased to announce the 9th annual IFPA World Pinball Championship. It will be held June 8-10, 2012 outside of Seattle, Washington. You can find complete details and rules for IFPA9 here.

Utilizing its World Pinball Player Rankings, the IFPA is using the January 1st, 2012 rankings to determine 63 of the 64 qualifiers for IFPA9. The top 2 avaliable ranked players from each country as of 1/1/2012 will receive an automatic qualifying spot into the tournament via a "Country Exemption". Should either of the top 2 players not be able to attend, that country exemption will move down the country ranking list until it is filled. The rest of the field will be made up of the most highly ranked players from the WPPR list. For players that cannot attend, spots will be filled by going down the rankings list. Should a country not fill the 2 spots awarded to it, additional at-large spots will be available.

Registration is now open and will close on Feburary 19th at 6pm EST. Last year we went to rankings position 110 to fill the field of 64, so we've included the top 150 on this initial invite list. We will go deeper if necessary, but there is a chance that not everyone on this list will be eligible to participate.

Registration Rules

  • Registration closes on Feburary 19th at 5pm CST.
  • The IFPA must receive a player's payment in order for that player to be officially registered.
  • Players must send their payment by mail, paypal or give the money to Josh Sharpe directly.
  • Once registration closes, any player on this list that hasn't paid will be ineligible to participate.
  • After fulfilling the Country Exemptions, the IFPA will confirm the additional At-Large bids for the tournament based on the highest ranked players that have paid their registration fee and committed to playing.
  • Once the entry spots have been filled, those who had paid registration fees but did not make the cut will have their fee refunded, but kept on a list (in order of rank) to be eligible as backups in case someone drops out.

Payment Details

We are offering a discount for players who register before January 22nd. Those players that register early will receive either $20 off registration, or a free IFPA9 t-shirt. There is an added $10 charge for those paying via Paypal to cover the Paypal fees.

Registration fee structure is as follows:

  • Early Registration w/t-shirt (through Jan 22nd): $250
  • Early Registration (through Jan 22nd): $230
  • Registration w/t-shirt (through Feb 19th): $270
  • Registration (through Feb 19th): $250

Your registration can be paid using PAYPAL or by sending a check. You may also pay Josh Sharpe directly.

If you choose to get a T-shirt, please indicate the size you want with your registration payment.
